This is the personal philosophy of Vera Ng’oma, communications specialist, Leadership facilitator who is passionately dedicated to seeding inspiration and motivation to help people honour their potential and live their strongest lives.

She leads Livexcellence Limited, a Leadership, personal and professional development company working with organizations and individuals to effectively apply a ‘can-do’ spirit, greater leadership literacy and purposeful action to achieve   impact. Vera is committed to working with organizations to build greater trust and democracy in the workplace where employees have room to lead and to make their greatest contribution. As an independent consultant, she provides expertise in Living Leadership, personal branding and employee engagement.

She is founder of Shedistinction an outfit that seeks to empower  professional and businesswomen to move beyond real, artificial and self imposed obstacles onto a new purposeful, productive and legacy building path. Shedistinction operates from the premise that leadership is not just what you do because of the title or position you hold but the difference you choose to make with the talents, knowledge and opportunities available to you now to add value to oneself and to become an effective architect of change and mentor to the younger generation.

She currently works for the Department of International department in Malawi as Education Adviser. Prior to that she worked with the British Council Malawi as Deputy Director during which time she designed professional development programmes  for young professionals and co-led the design and launch of highly successful initiatives such as the ‘Interaction’ leadership programme for sub Saharan Africa, The ‘Changing the face of politics’ exchange programme for Women MPs and Africawoman, for female journalists.

Vera has served on the boards of two of Malawi’s most vibrant civil society organizations, The Malawi Economic Justice Network and Women and Law in Southern Africa, Malawi, the latter as vice chair. She regularly mentors young professionals and provides Real World readiness seminars to help college students transition properly into the work world.

Her work experience spans front row roles in industries such as education and training, cultural relations, air travel, news media, international development. Vera writes on leadership and career development for Malawi’s Nation Newspapers, and for several on line publications and at her blog www.excelliquette.blogspot.com
